[Release Notes]
Back in 2005 the Toolroom label was voted as best recordlabel during the
House Music Awards. In the meantime loads of producers have been releasing
their records on Toolroom, like Dave Spoon, D Ramirez, Fedde Le Grand,
Seamus Haji and ofcourse Martijn ten Velden and Paul Harris

Lately they have been aiming also on the eventside of the biz,
with 'Toolroom Knights', so an album was the least we could expect

Disc 1 is mixed by Martijn ten Velden, who already has a big list of
dancefloor hits on his name with several guises and collabs
Disc 2 is mixed by Paul Harris, better known for his work in Dirty Vegas
and as Superbass and who already won a Grammy also

Both discs are pretty much amazing. Liking the MTV a bit more than
Paul Harris' mix, but both mixes have their ups and
(only a mere couple of) downs
Awesome to say the least... Pick this up as soon as you can!!!

Va-Toolroom Knights Vol.2 Mixed By Gabriel & Dresden-2CD-2007



Gabriel & Dresden's housier sound comes through on Toolroom Records' 2nd edition of Toolroom Knights, a project that adds another layer of success to the San Francisco-based duo. G & D's other recent accolades include increased success with their own indie label, worldwide recognition for their stellar remixes, tours around the world playing top clubs and festivals, a vote in at #20 in the prestigious DJ Magazine Top 100 poll, and finally the honor of 'Best American DJ' at this year's Winter Music Conference/International Dance Music Awards (IDMA). Reflecting the underground sound of the Toolroom Knights label, Gabriel & Dresden prove here why fans and critics both have hailed them as the "future sound" of electronic music. For this selection, they are exploring a more organic and textural musical landscape for the this double-disc format, and carefully blend sounds from indie rock bands to hard Detroit-style techno.

Also, in this collection we get to hear the debut of Gabriel & Dresden's popular remix of the Killers "Read My Mind," as well as exclusive tracks such as their re-interpretation of label chief Mark Knight's (including D. Ramirez) "Columbian Soul," a fantastic dark orgasmic excursion, their remix of Monochrome "Pearl," and Shlomi Aber & Itamar Sagi's "Blonda." Overall, they have succeeded tremendously by carefully selecting tracks that encapsulate the true sound of Gabriel & Dresden -- right now as DJ's. Each CD takes you on a journey, evoking a wavering series of unique moods and emotions. They have reflected on their own effort by saying, "We knew that this forward-thinking label would be the perfect platform to release tracks that had never been heard outside a club, and capture the musical diversity and inspiration of our DJ sets."

My favorite moments on the two discs included: On disc 1 – Track 2, In the Morning - Junior Boys (Hot Chip Remix) – a poppy fun good time!, Track 3, Good For Me - Above & Beyond (King Roc Dub Mix) already a good track, but made trancier and into classic analogue, Track 6, Colombian Soul - D. Ramirez/Mark Knight (Gabriel & Dresden Tuscan Soul Reconstruction) a highly eerie nightclub version. On Disc 2 – Track 5, A Break In the Clouds / Turn On the Lights - James Holden/3PM/Christopher Norman - (Acappella) with its solid male vocals and Track 6, Eleven - Gabriel & Dresden/Scarlett Etienne a great overall male vocal trance track, as hard-hitting as they come!

I had previously learned of G & D when I heard their remixes of Marcus Schulz's material. I already knew this one would be good, but there are moments when the darkness and spiraling trance of their near perfect choice of delivery makes me shudder! Good job guys, send more soon!

Toolroom Knights return with their next instalment of DJ-led mix albums. Reflecting the global sound of the label, this time mixing duties have been bestowed upon Tom Novy & Wally Lopez.

Tom needs no introduction, being one of dance music’s biggest and most respected artists. Known worldwide for his many chart successes including the hit ‘Your Body’, his VJing and his Radio & TV presenting. Tom was the first ever German artist to mix the 'Ministry Of Sound Annual' compilation, and regularly packs clubs across the globe with his DJ sets.

Adding to the ever growing series of quality DJ led compilations Toolroom Knights 6th instalment comes from Grammy Nominated DJ/Producer Dirty South AKA Dragan Roganovic. Dragan's productions have seen him grow in popularity from an early age, but over the past 3 years he has become one of House Music's most in-demand DJ/Producers. When Dragan injected his trademark House groove into Evermore's 'It's too Late' Rock hit in 2006, the entire Dance Music world stood up and took notice. His remixing credits went on to read like an honour role of Dance Music's finest, having reworked revered artists such as Depeche Mode, Mark Ronson, Tracey Thorn, Snoop Dogg, Roger Sanchez, Josh Wink, Tiësto, Chris Lake, Fedde Le Grande, Ferry Corsten and TV Rock. [Release Notes]
Back in 2005 the Toolroom label was voted as best recordlabel during the
House Music Awards. In the meantime loads of producers have been releasing
their records on Toolroom, like Dave Spoon, D Ramirez, Fedde Le Grand,
Seamus Haji and ofcourse Martijn ten Velden and Paul Harris

Lately they have been aiming also on the eventside of the biz,
with 'Toolroom Knights', so an album was the least we could expect

Disc 1 is mixed by Martijn ten Velden, who already has a big list of
dancefloor hits on his name with several guises and collabs
Disc 2 is mixed by Paul Harris, better known for his work in Dirty Vegas
and as Superbass and who already won a Grammy also

Both discs are pretty much amazing. Liking the MTV a bit more than
Paul Harris' mix, but both mixes have their ups and
(only a mere couple of) downs
Awesome to say the least... Pick this up as soon as you can!!!

Gabriel & Dresden's housier sound comes through on Toolroom Records' 2nd edition of Toolroom Knights, a project that adds another layer of success to the San Francisco-based duo. G & D's other recent accolades include increased success with their own indie label, worldwide recognition for their stellar remixes, tours around the world playing top clubs and festivals, a vote in at #20 in the prestigious DJ Magazine Top 100 poll, and finally the honor of 'Best American DJ' at this year's Winter Music Conference/International Dance Music Awards (IDMA). Reflecting the underground sound of the Toolroom Knights label, Gabriel & Dresden prove here why fans and critics both have hailed them as the "future sound" of electronic music. For this selection, they are exploring a more organic and textural musical landscape for the this double-disc format, and carefully blend sounds from indie rock bands to hard Detroit-style techno.

Also, in this collection we get to hear the debut of Gabriel & Dresden's popular remix of the Killers "Read My Mind," as well as exclusive tracks such as their re-interpretation of label chief Mark Knight's (including D. Ramirez) "Columbian Soul," a fantastic dark orgasmic excursion, their remix of Monochrome "Pearl," and Shlomi Aber & Itamar Sagi's "Blonda." Overall, they have succeeded tremendously by carefully selecting tracks that encapsulate the true sound of Gabriel & Dresden -- right now as DJ's. Each CD takes you on a journey, evoking a wavering series of unique moods and emotions. They have reflected on their own effort by saying, "We knew that this forward-thinking label would be the perfect platform to release tracks that had never been heard outside a club, and capture the musical diversity and inspiration of our DJ sets."

My favorite moments on the two discs included: On disc 1 – Track 2, In the Morning - Junior Boys (Hot Chip Remix) – a poppy fun good time!, Track 3, Good For Me - Above & Beyond (King Roc Dub Mix) already a good track, but made trancier and into classic analogue, Track 6, Colombian Soul - D. Ramirez/Mark Knight (Gabriel & Dresden Tuscan Soul Reconstruction) a highly eerie nightclub version. On Disc 2 – Track 5, A Break In the Clouds / Turn On the Lights - James Holden/3PM/Christopher Norman - (Acappella) with its solid male vocals and Track 6, Eleven - Gabriel & Dresden/Scarlett Etienne a great overall male vocal trance track, as hard-hitting as they come!

I had previously learned of G & D when I heard their remixes of Marcus Schulz's material. I already knew this one would be good, but there are moments when the darkness and spiraling trance of their near perfect choice of delivery makes me shudder! Good job guys, send more soon!

Toolroom Knights return with their next instalment of DJ-led mix albums. Reflecting the global sound of the label, this time mixing duties have been bestowed upon Tom Novy & Wally Lopez.

Tom needs no introduction, being one of dance music’s biggest and most respected artists. Known worldwide for his many chart successes including the hit ‘Your Body’, his VJing and his Radio & TV presenting. Tom was the first ever German artist to mix the 'Ministry Of Sound Annual' compilation, and regularly packs clubs across the globe with his DJ sets.

Adding to the ever growing series of quality DJ led compilations Toolroom Knights 6th instalment comes from Grammy Nominated DJ/Producer Dirty South AKA Dragan Roganovic. Dragan's productions have seen him grow in popularity from an early age, but over the past 3 years he has become one of House Music's most in-demand DJ/Producers. When Dragan injected his trademark House groove into Evermore's 'It's too Late' Rock hit in 2006, the entire Dance Music world stood up and took notice. His remixing credits went on to read like an honour role of Dance Music's finest, having reworked revered artists such as Depeche Mode, Mark Ronson, Tracey Thorn, Snoop Dogg, Roger Sanchez, Josh Wink, Tiësto, Chris Lake, Fedde Le Grande, Ferry Corsten and TV Rock. [Release Notes]
Back in 2005 the Toolroom label was voted as best recordlabel during the
House Music Awards. In the meantime loads of producers have been releasing
their records on Toolroom, like Dave Spoon, D Ramirez, Fedde Le Grand,
Seamus Haji and ofcourse Martijn ten Velden and Paul Harris

Lately they have been aiming also on the eventside of the biz,
with 'Toolroom Knights', so an album was the least we could expect

Disc 1 is mixed by Martijn ten Velden, who already has a big list of
dancefloor hits on his name with several guises and collabs
Disc 2 is mixed by Paul Harris, better known for his work in Dirty Vegas
and as Superbass and who already won a Grammy also

Both discs are pretty much amazing. Liking the MTV a bit more than
Paul Harris' mix, but both mixes have their ups and
(only a mere couple of) downs
Awesome to say the least... Pick this up as soon as you can!!!

Va-Toolroom Knights Vol.2 Mixed By Gabriel & Dresden-2CD-2007



Gabriel & Dresden's housier sound comes through on Toolroom Records' 2nd edition of Toolroom Knights, a project that adds another layer of success to the San Francisco-based duo. G & D's other recent accolades include increased success with their own indie label, worldwide recognition for their stellar remixes, tours around the world playing top clubs and festivals, a vote in at #20 in the prestigious DJ Magazine Top 100 poll, and finally the honor of 'Best American DJ' at this year's Winter Music Conference/International Dance Music Awards (IDMA). Reflecting the underground sound of the Toolroom Knights label, Gabriel & Dresden prove here why fans and critics both have hailed them as the "future sound" of electronic music. For this selection, they are exploring a more organic and textural musical landscape for the this double-disc format, and carefully blend sounds from indie rock bands to hard Detroit-style techno.

Also, in this collection we get to hear the debut of Gabriel & Dresden's popular remix of the Killers "Read My Mind," as well as exclusive tracks such as their re-interpretation of label chief Mark Knight's (including D. Ramirez) "Columbian Soul," a fantastic dark orgasmic excursion, their remix of Monochrome "Pearl," and Shlomi Aber & Itamar Sagi's "Blonda." Overall, they have succeeded tremendously by carefully selecting tracks that encapsulate the true sound of Gabriel & Dresden -- right now as DJ's. Each CD takes you on a journey, evoking a wavering series of unique moods and emotions. They have reflected on their own effort by saying, "We knew that this forward-thinking label would be the perfect platform to release tracks that had never been heard outside a club, and capture the musical diversity and inspiration of our DJ sets."

My favorite moments on the two discs included: On disc 1 – Track 2, In the Morning - Junior Boys (Hot Chip Remix) – a poppy fun good time!, Track 3, Good For Me - Above & Beyond (King Roc Dub Mix) already a good track, but made trancier and into classic analogue, Track 6, Colombian Soul - D. Ramirez/Mark Knight (Gabriel & Dresden Tuscan Soul Reconstruction) a highly eerie nightclub version. On Disc 2 – Track 5, A Break In the Clouds / Turn On the Lights - James Holden/3PM/Christopher Norman - (Acappella) with its solid male vocals and Track 6, Eleven - Gabriel & Dresden/Scarlett Etienne a great overall male vocal trance track, as hard-hitting as they come!

I had previously learned of G & D when I heard their remixes of Marcus Schulz's material. I already knew this one would be good, but there are moments when the darkness and spiraling trance of their near perfect choice of delivery makes me shudder! Good job guys, send more soon!

Toolroom Knights return with their next instalment of DJ-led mix albums. Reflecting the global sound of the label, this time mixing duties have been bestowed upon Tom Novy & Wally Lopez.

Tom needs no introduction, being one of dance music’s biggest and most respected artists. Known worldwide for his many chart successes including the hit ‘Your Body’, his VJing and his Radio & TV presenting. Tom was the first ever German artist to mix the 'Ministry Of Sound Annual' compilation, and regularly packs clubs across the globe with his DJ sets.

Adding to the ever growing series of quality DJ led compilations Toolroom Knights 6th instalment comes from Grammy Nominated DJ/Producer Dirty South AKA Dragan Roganovic. Dragan's productions have seen him grow in popularity from an early age, but over the past 3 years he has become one of House Music's most in-demand DJ/Producers. When Dragan injected his trademark House groove into Evermore's 'It's too Late' Rock hit in 2006, the entire Dance Music world stood up and took notice. His remixing credits went on to read like an honour role of Dance Music's finest, having reworked revered artists such as Depeche Mode, Mark Ronson, Tracey Thorn, Snoop Dogg, Roger Sanchez, Josh Wink, Tiësto, Chris Lake, Fedde Le Grande, Ferry Corsten and TV Rock.
